Pearson Ripley is a documentary storyteller working in both still photography and video. Born in San Francisco and raised in North Carolina, the focus of his work is directed by social and political concerns. By exploring new forms and techniques, he is always searching for a balance between his own voice and that of his participants. Pearson lives and works in the mountains of North Carolina and is an adjunct professor of photography at Appalachian State University in Boone.
